Skiing in Utah

Skiing in Utah really does offer the 'greatest snow on earth', with an average of 500 annual inches of Utah dry, powder snow, you can be assured you will find great snow conditions on some of the most challenging slopes in the world. Whether you like deep fluffy powder or nicely groomed slopes, skiing in Utah has it. Both of the Utah ski resorts we offer has a good balance of beginner, intermediate and advanced runs so you can bring the whole family and all enjoy skiing or boarding in Utah.

The majority of ski resorts in Utah are located within easy reach of Salt Lake City International Airport. Most resorts have ski in/ski out accommodations so you never have to leave the resort, if you don't want too. It should be no surprise that the headquarters for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association is in Park City, Utah.

Utah's ski resorts hosted some of the world's top athletes during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Since then, most ski resorts in Utah have expanded and upgraded their facilities. Resorts are sprinkled amid the towering mountains that run north to south through Utah.

Après ski in Utah offers an assortment of activities such as cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, helicopter skiing, tubing, ice-skating, sleigh rides and hot air ballooning.

The majority of the skiing in Utah is within 3 adjacent canyons of which the main places to stay are the ski resort of Park City, and the ski resort of Snowbird which are only 45 minutes drive from each other. You can therefore base yourself in any resort and then use it as a base to explore all 7 resorts on the area ski lift passes.

Après ski in Utah is lively and varied and it is indeed a myth that Utah is a dry state with no access to alcohol. Yes it is a Mormon state, but then so is Nevada, which has Las Vegas. The ski resort of Park City, for example, is a very cosmopolitan resort with loads of bars and a number of nightclubs and bars.

Since then Snowbird has become the No1 ski resort in the USA with over 2,500 acres of powdery trails and playing its part in the Winter Olympics of 2002. The resort is in an isolated mountain setting that is a cozy, pedestrian village within rugged surroundings. Just 45 minutes from Salt Lake City Airport you will discover ‘The Greatest Snow on Earth’.
