Kicking Horse: The resort...

A thrill seekers paradise

Kicking Horse is one of North America’s newest resorts; and with 30ft of snow annually and some jaw dropping steeps this is an adventure seekers heaven! A fast gondola takes you top to bottom, opening up the vast terrain of steep ridges and deep bowls, as well as countless off piste opportunities. With a small, friendly resort situated at the foot of the slopes, it means you’ll never be far from the action in the evenings. This truly is an advance skiers dream resort.

The skiing and boarding in Kicking Horse

Deserted slopes and fine dry powder normally give the perfect holiday, but Kicking Horse goes the extra step with some of the best and steepest terrain in North America. From the gondola, a variety of blue slopes gently wind down the mountain to warm you up before you head to the bowls and ridges on the top side. A twin stay with Revelstoke, the newest and most exciting resort in Canada, will create the perfect holiday.

Apres ski in Kicking Horse

Apres in Kicking Horse is limited, but the bars and restaurants that can be found at the hill are good ones. Eagle’s Eye at the top of the gondola is definitely worth a visit, as is Corks. Head to The Local Hero to enjoy a livelier scene with its outdoor deck, fire and music letting you relax perfectly after a day on the slopes. In near by Golden the Kicking Horse grill is highly rated, along with Golden Taps to party on into the night

Heli-skiing in Golden (Kicking Horse and Revelstoke)

When it comes to heli-skiing, the Trans-Canada Highway is the perfect guide to finding some of the best. The road snakes through incredible mountain ranges, and passes some of Canada’s most extreme and exciting resorts including Kicking Horse and Revelstoke. Situated in between the 2 is Heather Mountain Lodge which is the home of Great Canadian Heli-skiing.

With over 20 years of experience, they are one of the best operators in Canada; with knowledgeable guides, high quality equipment and heli-skiing as their passion.  It is the only operator in the region to offer unlimited vertical meaning that if you are on a 3 day package, you heli-ski for 3 days without any extra vertical ad-on costs. It allows you to make the most of your time on the mountain and not need to worry about any extra costs. A superb factor to consider!

Packages vary from 2 – 7 days and include unlimited vertical (including a guaranteed minimum), accommodation at Heather Mountain Lodge, all meals, and use of powder skis/snowboards and transceivers. Safety briefings are also part of the package before you take to the slopes.

Groups are made up of a maximum of 4 skiers, and there are no more than 3 separate groups per helicopter which increases your mountain time and reduces your waiting time at the bottom of the mountain.

If you are an advanced intermediate or expert skier and looking for an incredible powder experience then look no further than Great Canadian heli-skiing.
