Levi - The Resort...

Situated 170km north of the Arctic Circle, Levi is Finland’s largest ski area and one of the country’s premier resorts. Levi offers a fantastic mix of downhill skiing and winter based activities such as snowmobiling, ice fishing and husky safaris making it the perfect family holiday destination. The season spreads from November to May, although the best time to visit is from March to May when the days are longer and temperatures warmer. The accommodations are all of a high standard and vary from 4* half board hotels to traditional cabins which are perfect for larger groups or families. With the incredible, picturesque scenery and the breathtaking Northern Lights, Levi ticks all the boxes no matter what you are looking for in your holiday. Taking a step off the well trodden path of the Alps, ensures big rewards and a very special experience.

Please contact our specialists to discuss the variety of accommodation options available.

The skiing and boarding in Levi

The skiing in Levi is suited more to beginner and early intermediate skiers, with perfectly groomed runs and wide cruising pistes. The majority of lifts are drags making it a better destination for skiers, while the snow parks and pipes are a snowboarder’s paradise. With cold temperatures, the snow is always in good condition and excellent for skiing. Levi is not just about the skiing though; that is just a small portion of what the resort is really about. It also offers an abundance of winter activities. There are 230km of X-country skiing, 28km of which are illuminated, and a huge 886km of snowmobile tracks which invites snowmobile safaris around the local region. There is also reindeer and husky safaris, horse riding, snow shoeing, the Northern Lights, ice fishing, ice hole swimming, ice karting, wilderness cooking and skills as well as traditional saunas, ensuring that you’ll be kept busy and entertained through your stay.

The Après ski in Levi

Levi has a wide range of restaurants catering for all tastes with 31 in the resort and a further 7 on the mountain. There are fewer bars but the resort does give off a good atmosphere with lots of Finnish locals as well as a handful of English holidaymakers frequenting them. There is also a fitness centre, spa and children’s activity centre as well as a huge array of evening winter activities, including husky and reindeer safaris.
