With lively, extensive nightlife and an attractive Tyrolean centre, the village has a tremendous reputation, fantastic skiing and an excellent English-speaking ski and snowboard school.

The ski resort of Mayrhofen is one of the most beautifully situated resorts in Austria. The village could easily be a Hollywood set. The buildings in the town are almost all of traditional Tyrolean chalet design giving the resort a natural ambience and a picturesque image.

The Skiing and Boarding in Mayrhofen

The skiing in Mayrhofen is superb. Beginners could start at the top of the Penken Mountains, which have a variety of gentle slopes. Intermediate and advanced skiers will enjoy endless opportunities on the Penken, including long trails down to neighbouring Finkenberg. The Zillertaler Super lift pass opens up over 312 miles of trails with an astounding variety of challenging runs. Mayrhofen is renowned as one of World’s top snowboard resorts with extensive and easily accessible off-piste. The Apres Ski in Mayrhofen

The ski resort of Mayrhofen really does offer something for all types of skier and non-skier. There is an Aqua Adventure fun pool with a crazy river and slides. There is a sports centre with sauna, solarium, squash and tennis courts. After skiing in Mayrhofen, you may want to try ice skating or even curling. Horse drawn sleigh rides and horse riding are also available. The ski resort of Mayrhofen has over 45km of cleared winter footpaths with set trails for you to follow.

The ski resort of Mayrhofen has been a climbing and walking area for over 100 years. Its location in the wide and flat-bottomed Ziller Valley adds to its appeal. The Ziller Valley is famous for the classical and awesome beauty of the surrounding mountains.  The ski resort of Mayrhofen has a well-deserved reputation amongst British skiers. The ski area is situated on two separate plateaux, the Penken and the Ahorn. The Super Zillertal ski area offers incredible skiing for all levels of skier.

Skiing in Mayrhofen offers a huge choice of pistes. There is a free ski bus service connecting a vast 625km of skiable terrain encompassing the ski resorts of Zell am Ziller, Gerlos, Koningsleiten and the Hintertux glacier.
