Niseko - The Resort... |

Niseko is probably the best known of all the Japanese resorts, based on the northerly Island of Hokkaido and is split across 3 ‘resorts’; Grand Hirafu, Higashiyama and Annupuri. With a hub of lively après bars and restaurants based at Hirafu, it is here that the majority of skiers spend their time. Added to the fact that the mountain receives in excess of 50 foot of dry, light powder every year; it really does make it a fantastic all round skiing experience. There is easy access to the slopes, which stay open until 9pm each night on specially floodlit runs to ensure you make the most out of your day before enjoying the Japanese style nightlife.

Japan has debatably the best powder snow in the world. Not only does it get a massive 50ft on average, it is also the driest and fluffiest snow around giving the ultimate skiing experience. The pistes are wide and well groomed, with few other skiers around, and has some excellent areas through the trees making this an intermediates paradise. Beginners are also well looked after with some gentle runs and excellent English spoken tuition available. For advanced skiers there are many slopes left unpisted meaning an abundance of deep untouched powder to enjoy every day. The slopes are also set up for night skiing with strong floodlights meaning you can stay on the hill right through until 9pm each day.

Apres ski in Niseko is a fantastic and lively experience, with a huge variety of bars and restaurants available. It is a unique experience with each bar or café having something slightly different to the norm, such as a bar made out of a lorry, or having a climbing wall to try in the local coffee shop. There are several wild après bars, and restaurants offer both Japanese and western cuisine so all tastes should be catered for. There is also many other activities to keep busy including snow mobiling, tubing, dog sledding and of course to finish the day, what better way could there be than to relax in a local Onsen?

Niseko was named one of the world's snowiest resorts and averages around 16 meters of precipitation each season. The area is fed by weather systems that originate from Siberia which picks up moisture from the Sea of Japan that deposits huge accumulations of snow throughout the season. Niseko is regarded as one of Japan's premier ski areas, with 4 interlinked first-class resorts and some of the best tree skiing in Japan.
The village of Hirafu services Niseko's ski areas and is an eclectic mix of the old and new. Restaurants and bars cater to international skiing palates whilst also providing a good selection of traditional establishments. Niseko is also renowned for its hot thermal springs which provide great therapy for tired ski muscles at the end of a ski day.
With the many skiing options available, we will be skiing areas that has the best ski conditions on the day. As such we like to be flexible with the itinerary.
