Revelstoke - The Resort...

Revelstoke is one of North America’s newest resorts and already has much to boast about. It has a growing ski area that offers extreme challenges to even the most advanced of skiers, and an average of 40 – 60ft of annual snowfall. The resort village itself is also new, being built during the summer of 2008, and will offer a base area with a small range of bars and restaurants to help you rest your tired legs after a day of powder skiing. Situated just under 2 hours from Kicking Horse, it is perfect to create a twin centre holiday with another of Canada’s steep and extreme skiing paradises.

The skiing and boarding in Revelstoke

After the success of Revelstoke’s inaugural season; North America has a new player vying for the title of most challenging and exciting resort. Its uncrowded slopes leave you with a playground of incredible steeps, huge bowls and long, fast rollers that will give you one of the best skiing experiences in the world. With the expansion during the summer to open up more terrain, the skiing experience will be turned up another notch for the 2008-09 season, including the creation of North American’s longest vertical drop of 1.7km. This magnificent ski area has 4 alpine bowls and over 3,000 acres of lift serviced ski terrain, and an abundance of snow which results in a powder lover’s dreamland. It is also the only resort in the world able to boast the ability to lift, cat and heli-ski all from the base village.

The après ski in Revelstoke

Apres ski in Revelstoke is fairly limited as it is still in its infancy as a resort; however the town offers a relaxed and typically Canadian experience with several bars and restaurants. The brand new base area being built for this season will bring more variety and easier access to the après scene.

Heli-skiing in Revelstoke

Revelstoke is one of the best places in North America to heli-ski with over 500,000 acres of terrain available. The Selkirk and Monashee Mountains offer incredible tree skiing with over 200 runs and consistent snowfall resulting in superb conditions.

The only way to experience the area to its full potential is to heli-ski in the region and Selkirk Tangiers offers the opportunity to take on everything from a day package right through to a full week. A day package consists of 3 runs, where as a 7 day package will include 30,500ft of vertical.

All multi-day packages include accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinners, ACMG guiding services and ski or snowboard rental packages meaning you just need to turn up and have the experience of a lifetime. Multi-day packages consist of 11 people to 1 Bell 205 helicopter, with both semi-private and private packages are available upon request.

Heli-skiing in the region is only available to advanced intermediates and expert skiers, although it doesn’t matter if it is your first time heli-skiing as you’ll be looked after by professionals who will ensure you gain the most out of your package.
